We've been able to unjam it by temporarily raising the pressure, but cleaning it out (and maybe installing some sort of cover to protect it?) would probably be better, and it would be a good opportunity to check for defects. I'd like to recalibrate the safety sensors for slightly higher pressure anyway, since it seemed to help with the issues we were having earlier in the week, and it would make it easier for the sealer to unjam itself. | replaced piston | ||||
| 2025-11-21 | Gap between the two blades at the corner, and a gap between the tape on the pads, are combined creating a consistent string of plastic from that corner. Also, today it developed an incredibly consistent hole in the middle of cross seal 2, which is the seal made after the item being wrapped is inside the machine, specifically by the left side of the cross seal blade. The hole has been very resistant to settings based changes. Paradoxically, cross seal 1 is still working consistently, and the hole is only ever on seal 2 (despite being the same blade making two seals. My suspicion is that the blade or the inner side guard have come loose after initially being in a good position after the blades were replaced. After sealing, the lights on the side seal switches would indicate that they were detecting a block, and would trip the safety warning while the blades were still fully up. This would happen directly after sealing something, so the machine would run normally briefly and then suddenly stop sealing and throw up the safety alert. I adjusted positioning of the springs on the guards slightly, and it didn't do it for the second half of the shift, but it was very persistent up until that point so I still would like it to be looked at. We also noticed for the last couple of days the machine seems to be sealing 'harder', so it might be the guards are being shaken more than usual. | ok | ||

We've found that bumping the guards, opening and closing the door to reset the pressure, and hitting the manual seal button more rapidly seem to make the problem work itself out, but none of these solutions work consistently. The issue doesn't persist for long, usually taking us less than a minute to resolve, but it happens pretty consistently and has been a mild annoyance for about a month. | Increase pressure and checked all sensor connections | ||
