Teflon tape for the rubber bumpers needs replacing, it's heavily discolored and has some plastic buildup.
The blades haven't been cleaned in about a year, I'm unsure if they actually need it, but I can't tell with the guards on. I would like them to get checked, cleaned if there is much buildup.
We've been having some persistent holes on the 2nd cross seal, so I'm hoping this work will improve it. |

The set screw used to tighten the bar that holds up the film right before it goes past the blades is almost stripped. It would be helpful if we could get it replaced, preferably with something we can easily hand tighten.
The tape for the pads is starting to wear through in spots, it might be worth replacing before it becomes problematic. |

When the connection to the air compressor broke today, I'm pretty sure it was from a passing speedrack catching the hose sticking out the back of the machine into the walkway. If the T intersection that was added could be turned so that the middle connection is the one entering the shrink wrapper, then the hoses would probably stick out into the pathway as much.
Thanks again for fixing it so quickly, it would have been pretty problematic. |

The blades of the shrink wrapper have visible buildup of plastic, and it's starting to have an effect on some of the harder to wrap items. I haven't been able to scrub them off using the plastic wiping method.
Also one of the shrink wrappers screws and its washers were found, but we weren't able to figure out where they fell from. And when I tried using the air compressor to clean the machine it just sprayed water continuously. |

Can we get a new air hose for cleaning the machines? Preferably one long enough to reach from the shrink wrapper to the flow wrapper with a bit of room to spare. The one we used to use is now being used for running the spray gun in the kitchen. And if possible, could we get some sort of junction at the point where the hose that supplies the shrink wrapper attaches so that we don't have to fully disconnect the shrink wrapper in order to use the compressed air line for cleaning. |

The guard for the side seal blade is becoming intermittently jammed, roughly in the area around the first / right side sensor. It's very occasional, somewhere in the range of only a 1-3 times over the course of 100 items wrapped, but always in the same place. When it becomes stuck, the guard remains raised enough to trigger the touch sensor, and jostling the guard in that area causes it to fall back down and allow for normal use again.
As a side note, I'm still running the machine at a lower blade temperature, but I've had to raise the blade temperature slightly in order for it to seal properly; on some items I'd reached the maximum dwell time and was only getting weak seals. Still trying to keep the blade as clean as I can as well. I'm slightly worried that the much higher dwell times might be overall worse than higher temperatures, but will continue watching it. |

The blades are very dirty, to the point of appearing bumpy. I cleaned them as best I could using the method of scrubbing them with a wad of plastic while they're hot, but I believe I've hit the limit of what I can remove that way. The machine is sealing worse than usual, and I suspect the buildup on the blade is a major culprit. We have a coffee cake promo coming up and I'm hoping to get it working really well before we fully start production. |

It isn't damaging the belt (yet), but the belt is drifting to the left very quickly these days. We know how to slide it back into place, but it's now moving fast enough that it will return to being completely to the left in less than an hour's use, and using the levers to move the belt to the right has become very slow. We were told that glaze on the rollers was a likely cause, but that's not a part we have a method of cleaning. |

The machine is working, but the cross seal has been under performing. The cross seal seems to be having trouble cutting and sealing the plastic, leading to the seal being inconsistent / weak, and frequently failing to release and becoming stuck. We've had to raise average dwell time and blade temperature every few days for the past few weeks in order to counteract it. Very little comes off the blade when we use the method of using a wadded piece of plastic to wipe the blade. All the usual techniques for improving bags and how well the blade seals have worked (like making heavy use of priming the blade and pads), but performance has just been trending downward the last few weeks and we'd like it to be looked at. |

The shrink wrapper is overall working well, the blade temperature and dwell time had to be dropped even further down with the new blade and pads. There is a problem though with the far left side of the side seal. The last third or so of the blade is sealing much more weakly than the rest of the machine, and on items which are long enough to reach that area the seal consistently fails in that area. So far the only items long enough to have been affected is the cornbread. Adjusting the temperature and dwell time was able to reduce but not fully remove the issue. Overall the side seal blade seems to also run hotter than the cross seal blade; over melting the side seal when both blades are set to the same temperature. This is easily managed by running the side seal blade about 5-10 degrees cooler than the cross seal blade, but I figured it was worth mentioning. |

It could use a check-up in general. More specifically the bags are 'sticking' and we are increasing both the blade temp and seal time up and up, causing more holes. Being quite inconsistent in general. Was thinking the tape could maybe use a change, not sure the last time that was done. |

The conveyor belt used to feed the machine feels very loose and has been having trouble moving some of the heavier/denser items. When it happens the belt will either noticeably slow down, stop outright, or be unable to start moving from a stop. It can cause the film to feed faster than the item is being pushed into the bag, which can cause issues with the quality of the wrap. I also think the buildup on the underside of the belt has gotten bad, but can't really confirm that. Overall the machine still works on the troublesome items, it just causes some extra difficulty. |

One of the rollers for one of the black belts is missing the retaining clip which prevents the roller / bearings / belt from sliding side to side. It most likely fell off while trying to clear out a film bunch up. We made a temporary one out of a paperclip, and marked the bolt which the roller corresponds to. The bolt is on the left side when you open the shrink wrapper door. |

There is a frequent reoccurring hole in the side seal. The hole is on the side seal, about an inch from the far right side of the side seal. The size of the hole varies depending on the settings on the machine. Changing the bag length, height, width, blade height, blade temperature, and dwell time did not reduce how often the hole appeared. We cleaned the blade as best we could with the abrasive pad. We tried every variation of settings we could think of. The hole appears when using both large and small film. The hole appears less often on large and rectangular items, but much more often on small coffee cakes. The hole is visible before the item enters the heat tunnel. Sometimes the plastic around the hole appears to be slightly bunched up, but not always.
Sometimes the entire side seam will be weaker and will immediately tear open when it enters the heat tunnel, but that seems less frequent.
Hole started appearing after the wires on the heating element were repaired, but worsened massively the following day. |
